Originally from Stratford-upon-Avon, Matthew began his journey into the legal sector as an undergraduate at the University of the West of England in 2017, being the first one in his family to go to University.
He very proudly went on to obtain his law degree with first-class honours in 2020, at which point Matthew turned his attention to the Legal Practice Course with ambitions to become a solicitor, which he would go on to complete on a part-time basis meanwhile working full-time to support his studies.
Matthew was delightedly accepted on to RHL Solicitors’s Trainee Solicitor Programme in May 2022, and he looks forward to becoming a newly qualified solicitor in 2024.
If you weren’t in the legal sector, what would you be doing?
I would love to work as a mechanic as I find it fascinating how cars work and I enjoy the challenge of fixing/trying to fix them. I spend much of my free time working on my own little projects on my car. It’s a great way to unwind for me and I am constantly learning new things.
What does your ideal day off look like?
I love to spend time outdoors and during most of my time off I often find I am immersing myself in nature. I particularly find solace when I manage to make it to the beach, especially during a hot day, to enjoy the scenery. Whether I am exploring somewhere new or simply lounging on the beach, I always feel refreshed and invigorated after a day spent outside.
Favourite place in the world?
While I still intend to travel the world more extensively, I must say that Mallorca is one of my favourite places in the world. The island is stunning with its crystal-clear waters, rugged coastline and picturesque villages. The food on offer is particularly loved by me, being a mix of Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine.Get in touch Our people
